Should I get my Makita Batteries Locally or Online?

There is nothing greater than a top of the line power tool. You can get incredible amounts of work done in just a few minutes if your tools are all functioning properly. The same goes for the batteries that are powering them. In general, I use Makita power tools. I have gone through a crazy amount of Makita batteries over the years as I have been with Makita for a long time and use their tools on a daily basis. I have had a couple of bad purchase experiences so this article is to simply encourage you to seek out an authorized Makita dealer that you like and do all of your business with them. The other thing I have found lately is that I can find a reputable internet seller of Makita products and save a bit on each order.
First and foremost consider your local Makita Dealer. I have one that I go to all the time and he will generally stock much of what I could need on a daily basis. Nothing beats the convenience when I am in a pinch and a job is at risk of being completed. I have gone to the same guy for over 10 years and will go no where else locally.
I have also found a couple online resources for Makita batteries. There is definitely a convenience disadvantage to ordering online if I need something immediately but that is compensated for by lower prices and delivery to my doorstep. If I have a couple of days and can wait on my Makita batteries or power tools I will order them online and save the cash.
There are many ways to get Makita batteries to keep your power tools running. I have found that I use a combination of local dealers and online retailers to get everything I need. There is a good case for either and I recommend finding a few you like and stick with them.
